Planning to take BUSM 4200 or 4300 next term

BBA courses BUSM 4200 and 4300 always fill up during the first two days of registration. To give yourself the best chance of getting a seat in these courses and the other 300-level and 4000-level BBA required courses, you should apply for Upper Division status as soon as you're eligible. Upper Division BBA students register earlier than students in Lower Division. All BBA students who want to take BUSM 4200 or 4300 are advised to register as soon as the registration system opens for them.

BBA students are reminded that their practicum (COOP 2301 or approved credit for BUSM 3000) must be completed before they can take BUSM 4200.

BBA Program Maintenance of Standing

BBA students who have completed 60 or more credits must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.33 to continue in the program. Students unable to maintain this minimum will be removed from the BBA program and switched to an Arts and Science open enrollment program. Once a removed student is able to raise their CGPA to the minimum 2.33, they may email business@langara.ca to request reinstatement to the BBA for the following semester. The deadline to submit reinstatement requests to take effect for Spring 2022 term is Monday, September 27th.

Important Notes:
A student who is reinstated into the BBA program after removal for maintenance of standing or suspension must meet the program/curriculum requirements in effect the term they resume their studies in the BBA.

Students must achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.33 and a minimum 'C' grade in all core business-related third- and fourth-year courses (BCAP, BUSM, FMGT, INTB, or MARK courses numbered 3xxx or 4xxx) in order to graduate.

Course Planning Tool: Student Graduation Evaluation Tool in myLangara

BBA and Diploma students should review their program requirements and progress at least once per term.

Students are advised to refer to the unofficial Student Graduation Evaluation tool in myLangara to see how their previously completed and registered courses slot in to meet their program's requirements. It is important to note that the Student Graduation Evaluation tool allows you to view your program's requirements as of your program start date (also known as "catalogue term"). The program requirements publicly posted on the Langara website, by contrast, only reflect the most recent version of the program's curriculum.

Not sure what your program start date (or "catalogue term") is? Have a question about how a course is slotting in the Student Graduation Evaluation tool? Contact a Graduation Advisor to confirm at gradeval@langara.ca.

Course Planning Tip: Know When Your Courses are Offered

Do you know when your program's courses are offered? Not every course is available every term.

All LSM students are encouraged to check past course schedules to see when their courses have been offered in past terms. Some courses (FMGT 4225, for example) are only offered once a year. There are several courses that are not offered in Summer terms (like MATH 1119). Have a question about when courses you need will be offered? Contact program advising at business@langara.ca

Reminder: ENGL 1123

Effective Fall 2020 term, ENGL 1127 has been replaced by the new academic writing course ENGL 1123.

BBA and School of Management diploma students should note that students can only recieve credit for one of ENGL 1123, ENGL 1127, and ENGL 1128. Course and prerequisite information for ENGL 1123 is available on the course description
